Sarah was raised as a military child, and spent most of her youth moving and traveling throughout much of the United States and eventually the world. By the time she graduated high school in Tokyo, Japan she had attended four elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. From her experience as a student of numerous public education systems as well as missionary service in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sarah developed a passion for teaching and education. This combined with her love for the Liberal Arts, specifically U.S. History led Sarah to earn a BS in Social Science Teaching from BYU.
Following her time at BYU, Sarah spent several years teaching Social Studies at Provo High School. During this time she earned her Masters in Public Policy from the University of Utah, and also met her husband, a world history teacher who happened to be two classrooms down. Sarah believes that the most rewarding part of being an educator is creating welcoming environments for students and fostering positive relationships. She is thrilled to return to BYU as an advisor in the LAAC. She looks forward to working with future educators as they work to accomplish their academic and professional goals.
