History Teaching & Social Science Teaching

The Department of History houses both the History Teaching major and the Social Science Teaching major. Information specific to these two teaching majors can be found in this section and in the Useful links box on this page.

The Social Science Teaching major prepares students to teach public school in the following subjects:

  • history (history teaching majors are endorsed to teach only history courses)

  • psychology
  • sociology
  • anthropology
  • economics
